Ratification of the VOT/IAFF 2014-15 and 2015-18 Collective Bargaining Agreements

Executive Summary of Major Issues:
The Village commenced negotiations with the IAFF on April 10, 2014 and eventually arrived at a tentative agreement just over a year later, settling on 2 separate agreements; a one-year (2014-2015) and a three-year (2015-2018). On June 19, 2015, the IAFF members ratified both agreements and have now asked that they be taken to Council for approval. Based on the discussions held with the Village Council over the previous year, the negotiating team believes that it has arrived at a reasonable outcome which meets their directive of effecting significant pension reforms, and which merits bringing the agreements before Council at this time to request their approval.
